I was wanting to write a different blog post and came across a blog post on chloesway.com called the Beauty Blogger Tag, but she got it from missmakeupmagpie.com. So thanks to them for coming up with questions for this tag and I have tweaked a few so it is a wider range other than just beauty.
Why did you start your blog and how long have you been blogging for? I actually started my blog in May 2010, and came up with the name AliBrille. But didn't properly start posting until the end of 2013. I didn't have the confidence to write and show the world what I can do. Does your blog name stand for anything? So when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to call by blog and internet name, I didn't want to use my real name so I had to come up with something. I used to have to tell people just to call me Ellie or Ali because they had such a hard time to pronounce Eilidh (do any of you know someone with the same name?). So I decided to use Ali also because I liked the Alice in Wonderland. And then I wanted something different, I was learning French at the time and came across a movie called Tout Ce Qui Brille (All that Glitters). I really loved the word Brille and thought it would sound good with Ali so I became AliBrille (Ali Glitters/Shines).
Whose blog did you fall in love with first? In my search for girly advice or inspiration wether in life or fashion and makeup, I came across the wonderful site called YouTube, and here is where I discovered Dulce Candy in 2008! She was the first person I started following her videos and then discovered she had a blog and this is when I became a fan of YouTube videos and blogs.
What was the first blogosphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype? The first blog hyped product was a lush bath bomb. I watched Zoella's Lush Haul and really wanted to know what the bath bombs smelt like and just wanted to try it out. And the exact one I got was Golden Wonder; the one that looks like a present. And it was amazing, I got it around Christmas time in Australia which is the middle of summer, so not the best time to have a warm bath but the product itself smelt amazing and make the water look so cool!
What are your five favourite things about blogging and being a Beauty blogger?
Looking for new products to try out and talk about.
Writing, I love writing at night my brain is way more creative in the evening.
Helping people out, even though I don't get many comments it is nice to think maybe someone out there found something in my blog to be helpful.
Taking photos, I love photography and hope one day I will be able to afford a really nice camera so the picture quality can be better to view.
Just the creative side of it all; blog design, post content, photos, everything.
What have you learnt from being a Beauty Blogger? To have confidence in your own voice and don't be stressed out if you don't get a big spike in your views, you will notice over time people do look at it.
Have you changed anything since becoming a Beauty Blogger? My writing has definitely improved, and also the layout of my blog and photos. Other than that it is still just me typing and clicking away.
What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out? Be patient, it takes time to build up your content and don't worry about trying to get views. If you are doing your blog just for the views it probably won't feel worth it. Write about something you have a passion in, and enjoy being creative and showing your creativity to the world.
